Challenging Issue:Client had requirement to implement web project with special effects which may supports layered images moving around the website resulting into an interesting 3D illusion. Client was facing problems with expertise technical resources. Short time duration was one of the major concerns to make website on air.

Solution: We analysed the problem and offered few options to the Client. After few iterations, we implemented a perfect Parallex effect solution, where in background, text and object layers move separately.

Since timelines were very tight, team had to stretch a lot to accomplish the task by due deadlines.

Outcomes: Client liked the overall work and appreciated the team’s effort deliver a complex technical project under high pressure.

Purpose: Client aimed to promote their mobile phone and planned an event to use mobile without any call/sms for a day. Winner would win a dinner with Lady Gaga. Event was organized in July 2009 where final 100 people were selected from the 10 countries in Europe to participate in the competition. This event has been supported by 10 countries and rest of the Europe.

Functionality – People from listed countries could participate by registering on the site. After registration, they had to collect vote by spreading their message on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and other tools. Top 100 vote gainers were selected for final event and winner of the competition was awarded 10000Euro to take Swedish Singer out for dinner.

Challenging Issue: Client aimed to promote site usage for choosing/comparing car model and calculate tax for same. Company wanted to this section developed with very smooth user experience. So users can simply select their preferences using user friendly controls and system should show matching car models. If user changes their preference then result should change smoothly without affecting the page.Company also decided to include tax calculator in the application which had some complex business logic.

Insight:Using technology specialists, AnkTech took the responsibility to provide this functionality in order to meet the deadline for the project. We used our Web 2.0, AJAX, JQuery and JSON experts to work on these functional areas.

Solution: AnkTech worked on couple of modules among the numerous sections in the website, which had been developed on a CMS. AnkTech added good graphics and HTML designs to the website. AnkTech used UI controls provided in Jquery framework like range control etc and used Ajax to post request and fetch data in JSON format. This approach helped to show the search result instantly without reloading the page.

Purpose: Calpol competition was looking for the guest judge in the ‘Be A Calpol Star’ competition. Guest judge on the panel will select two winners of the ‘Be A Calpol Star’ competition which offers a once in a lifetime opportunity for two children to feature in the next Calpol TV advert. There are two categories in which people can vote: 9 months to 5 years or 6 to 12 years. The 12 most voted from each age group will then be invited to the casting say, making 24 semi finals. This Facebook competition runs from 1 July 2011 – 2 August 2011 asks parents to upload photos or videos of their little stars.

Challenging Issue: Client had a proposal to develop an application on the juncture of big football event. Client wanted to use twitter features to involve more and more people with the system. Clint wanted people to upload (or take using webcam) profile picture using application and tweet with a #tag. If there is a same #tag used with someone who has not upload their profile picture using the system then it should reject the entries so far and start from scratch. Major challenge was to capture real time tweets without losing any data and ensure that profile picture used on twitter account is actually uploaded using system.

Solution: AnkTech used twitter’s real time streaming API used to capture all the tweets with ‘#tag’; all these results were captured using a windows service. Windows service had to push results to MSMQ to be processed further. Since there was no processing in windows service so load remained low and it could capture almost all the tweets. Further services were developed to process results from MSMQ and save them in database. Admin section was designed separately with rights to reject any number of tweets. To ensure that profile picture is uploaded using system, logic was implemented to match profile pictures. Even if someone upload same picture from twitter directly, system could detect the change and reject the entry.

Outcomes: Application was delivered before the event with capturing real time tweets as agreed in SLA. AnkTech marked this project as a milestone work done by its people. AnkTech established everlasting contacts with the client.
